President Director: BPJS Health Is Not Regulated In The New Health Law
JAKARTA - The Health Social Security Administration (BPJS) is not regulated in the Health Law which was just passed by the DPR on Tuesday, July 11, 2023.
This was conveyed by the President Director of BPJS Kesehatan Ali Ghufron Mukti in the Public Examination of the 2022 Program Management and Financial Report which was followed online, Tuesday, July 18.
"BPJS Kesehatan dan Jaminan Kesehatan Nasional (JKN) memiliki undang-undang sendiri," ujar Ali.
He continued, BPJS Kesehatan and JKN are protected by two laws, namely Law Number 40 of 2004 concerning the National Social Security System and Law Number 24 of 2011 concerning the Social Security Administering Body.
According to Ali, the BPJS Kesehatan "path" should no longer be changed to regulations that can destabilize the performance of public legal entities.
"BPJS Kesehatan sudah di trek yang benar, meski masih perlu perbaikan untuk optimalisasi," kata Wakil Menteri Kesehatan (Wamenkes) periode 2011-2014 itu.
Meanwhile, member of the National Social Security Council (DJSN) Muttaqien admitted that he still needed to review the Health Law related to JKN even though the Health Law was passed last week.
Even so, Muttaqien encouraged efforts to reform the social security program in Indonesia.
"We need to encourage social security reform because even though there is an achievement, there needs to be improvements," he said.
