Kia Europe Announces Pierre-Martin Bos As Director Of PBV To Lead Vehicle Innovation In Europe

JAKARTA - Kia Europe, Kia's marketing division in Europe, announced the appointment of Pierre-Martin Bos as the new Purpose Built Vehicle (PBV) Director. The former Stellantis director will be based in the Kia Europe office in Frankfurt, Germany.

As a Senior Executive, the boss will take over the management that has been operating in the region since 2021. In his new role, he will lead a number of strategic programs.

One of the main tasks of the boss is to lead European market preparations for the launch of PBV, an innovative segment involving vehicle development for specific purposes. This is done to support the development of the B2B Kia business.

Kia has plans to launch a medium-sized PBV model by 2025, which will be built at a special facility plant in Hwaseong, South Korea.

This leading-tech battery-powered PBV offers attractive prospects, especially in the light commercial vehicle sector and passenger transport. Kia as a newcomer has entered the Light Commercial Vehicle (LCV) market in Europe. The boss will work hard in preparing market readiness for the future and building a sustainable network for this new type of ecosystem.

The boss stated his commitment to preparing the European market in the PBV segment which is expected to change the game. He also admitted that Kia is one of the leading companies in developing electric vehicles with advanced technology.

This is a motivation for me to prepare the PBV market in Europe by building a strong network of partners," said the boss in an official statement issued on Monday, July 10.

Pierre-Martin Bos is not new to the automotive industry, as he has experienced for two decades in the industry. Prior to joining Kia, Bos had served in key positions at Stellantis and its predecessor brands since 1999.

Prior to his appointment, the boss served as head of PBV and B2B at parent company Stellantis, where he managed to lead various activities in this segment in the Middle East and Africa.
