Triumph Speed 400 Andaturble 400 X Launch In India, Offers Extraordinary Performance At Affordable Prices
JAKARTA - The motorcycle industry in India has been shocked again by the presence of two of the latest models from Triumph, namely Speed 400 and badminton 400 X. Both motorcycles were built in collaboration with Bajaj, and offered outstanding performance at affordable prices.
One of the highlights is Triumph Speed 400. Quoted from Reuters, July 5, this motorbike is sold for around 233,000 rupees or around Rp. 42 million, which is very affordable from competitors. In fact, for the first 10,000 orders, Triumph offered a special price of 223,000 rupees or Rp. 40 million.
In the sub-500cc segment, this bike is one of the most affordable in the market. Some of its competitors include KTM 390 Duke (297,475 rupees), Honda CB300R (277,267 rupees), BMW G 310 R (Rs 285.000), and Royal Enfieldmen's 411 (206,394 rupees). In terms of price, Speed 400 is far ahead of those competitors.

Both of these motors are powered by a new engine with a capacity of 398cc, one cylinder, a liquid-cooled engine capable of producing 40 dk of power and 37.5Nm of torque. The performance offered by this machine is impressive. The machine is combined with a transmission of 6 accelerations equipped with a slip-and-assist coupling.
The Triumph Speed 400 andatured 400 X triumphs are also equipped with advanced features such as ride by wire, regulated traction controls, and an ABS braking system with two channels.
At 400 X badminton, ABS can be disabled to perform the glide action. Front suspension uses a 43mm USD fork with a big piston technology, while the back suspension uses a single suspension with preload setting capabilities.
Speed 400 has a front suspension journey of 140mm and a back of 130mm, while 130mm Rolex 400 X has a front and rear suspension journey of 150mm. This difference makes 400,000 400 X more suitable for urban use than for intense offroad activities.
The braking system on Speed 400 uses a front disk with a diameter of 300mm, while the 400 X badminton is equipped with a front disk with a larger 320mm diameter. The two motors are also equipped with a behind disk with a diameter of 230mm.
Speed 400 uses MRF Zapper Kurve tires with block patterns, while international models use more premium Koro Street Metzeler tires. In addition, the Indian version of Speed 400 uses the Apollo Alpha H1 tires which are also able to provide good performance.
Although the price is very affordable, Triumph does not sacrifice essential features in Speed 400 and badminton 400 X. These two motors are equipped with semi-digital instrument panels that display speed, distance information, dental position indicators, and clocks. The immunobilizer feature is also embedded in these two motors to improve security. In addition, although it does not have a smartphone connectivity or turn-by-turn navigation, these features may not be much needed considering the prices offered by these two motors.
