Immediately Detained, The Husband Of The Suspect Of Domestic Violence Threatened With 5 Years In Prison

Polda Metro Jaya arrested and detained Bani Idham Bayumi as husband in the alleged domestic violence (KDRT) case against his wife, Putri Balqis, in Depok, West Java. In this case, Bani Idham was threatened with imprisonment for 5 years.

"(Detention) at the Tahti Polda Metro Jaya Detention Center," said Director of the General Criminal Investigation of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Hengki Haryadi in his statement, Wednesday, July 5.

The detention of Bani, continued Hengki, was in accordance with Article 44 paragraph 1 of the Republic of Indonesia Law Number 23 of 2004 concerning the Elimination of Domestic Violence (PKDRT).

In this case, Bani is also subject to Article 64 of the Criminal Code due to repeated or continuous acts (voortgezette handling).

"With a maximum penalty of 5 years in prison in conjunction with Article 64 of the Criminal Code," said Hengki.

In this case, Putri Balqis was also named a suspect. Even Putri was detained.

However, the Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Karyoto instructed his staff to suspend the detention of Putri Balqis. The decision was of course with several considerations.

"Yesterday, the detention suspension was also carried out (of Putri Balqis)," said Metro Jaya Police Chief Inspector General Karyoto.
