Ganjar Pranowo Sends Instructions To Handle The Impact Of The Yogyakarta Earthquake In Central Java

Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo continues to monitor what happened in his government area after an earthquake experienced in the region, Bantul, Yogyakarta, Friday, June 30 yesterday.

An earthquake with a strength of 6.4 SR was felt in the Central Java region. Not only that, the earthquake also caused several impacts of damage. Ganjar Pranowo through the Head of the Central Java Province Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Bergas Catursasi admitted that he was still conducting assessments and handling the impact of the earthquake in Bantul.

"We have coordinated with local volunteers and BPBD to ensure conditions in the field," he said, Saturday, July 1.

The data reported were 11 districts in Central Java that were affected by the earthquake that occurred at around 19:57 WIB, namely Kebumen, Wonogiri, Purworejo, Purbalingga, Wonosobo, Magelang, Tegal Regency, Banyumas. Then Banjarnegara, Grobogan, Klaten, and Brebes.

"From the incoming reports, Wonogiri was reported to be the worst affected. However, we continue to coordinate with the regions," he said.

In detail, he said that in Wonogiri there were 66 houses belonging to residents reported to have suffered minor damage, three school buildings were heavily damaged, namely SMPN 1 Panggupito, SMK Pracimantoro Tourism, and SMK 1 Giriloyo. In addition, one place of worship in Wonogiri was also reported to have been heavily damaged and two other buildings were moderately damaged.

"For now, we have sent logistical assistance to Wonogiri," he added.

He explained, for the damage to public facilities that are under the authority of the provincial government, quick treatment will be carried out using Unexpected Funds (DTT).

"The data shows that there are damaged vocational schools and other public facilities. Those under the authority of the provincial government will be handled with DTT. Regional authorities are still being coordinated with the regions," he said.

Apart from Wonogiri, Bergas Catursasi added, damage also occurred in Kebumen. At least two houses were reported to have been damaged, 9 houses were slightly damaged, the electricity network was damaged, 11 families with 38 people were affected, 1 building was heavily damaged, and one place of worship was lightly damaged.

In Purworejo Regency, it was reported that 3 houses were heavily damaged and 1 house was moderately damaged. In Purbalingga, 4 houses were moderately damaged, 2 houses were slightly damaged, and 6 families from 18 people were affected. Then, in Wonosobo, there were six houses in Kaliwiro District which were reported to have been moderately damaged by the Bantul earthquake and 1 place of worship was slightly damaged.

Meanwhile, one house in Salaman, Magelang, suffered minor damage and one house in Kaliubu Village, Salaman, was moderately damaged. In Tegal, one resident reportedly suffered minor injuries due to the earthquake and one house was moderately damaged in Pagedangan RT 024 and RW 003.

In Banyumas, one family was reported to be moderately damaged and one house was heavily damaged. In Banjarnegara, the earthquake in Bantul also damaged two houses belonging to residents, while in Grobogan one house was heavily damaged, while in Klaten one house in Wedi District it was reported that it was moderately damaged and one house in Winduji Village, Paguyangan District, Brebes, Central Java (Central Java), was slightly damaged by the Bantul earthquake.

"Until now, apart from handling, we are still coordinating regarding conditions in the field. Are there additional reports of damage or not," he said.
