Surabaya Health Office Handles Victims Of Mass Toxic Kurban Meat In Kenjeran
SURABAYA - The Surabaya City Health Office (Dinkes) moved quickly to provide medical treatment for mass poisoning after eating sacrificial meat at Kalilom Lor Indah, Tanah Kali Kewall, Kenjeran, East Java.

Nanik explained that the chronology of the incident, namely on Thursday, (29/6) morning, was carried out by slaughtering sacrificial animals in the form of goats.
After that, it was continued with eating together at 19.00 WIB at Kalilom Lor Indah.
"On Friday morning before dawn, June 30, complaints emerged among residents around the Kalilom Lor Indah area. Local residents showed complaints of vomiting, diarrhea, hot bodies accompanied by dizziness after eating food served en masse on Thursday (29/6)," said Nanik.
Some residents immediately seek treatment independently. In addition, there were also residents who contacted the Head of the Tanah Kali Kewall Health Center at around 16.00 WIB with similar symptoms.
The Puskesmas officers immediately carried out monitoring and reported indications of food poisoning that was eaten by residents on Friday (30/6) afternoon.
From the results of the examination of patient data by Puskesmas officers accompanied by the Surabaya Health Office to residents' homes, 71 people were gathered to be poisoned.
The victims who were poisoned included 22 patients with mild symptoms and treated by health centers in each patient's house.
Furthermore, as many as 23 patients who carried out out out outpatient treatment at health facilities (health facilities) in addition to the Tanah Kali Kewall Health Center, received intensive monitoring by the Puskesmas. Then, 14 patients with stable conditions were hospitalized at the Tanah Kali Kewall Surabaya Health Center.
In addition, he continued, as many as 12 other patients were referred to the nearest hospital and the nearest Ranap Health Center (inpatient) around the Tanah Kewall Surabaya Health Center area.
Among them, three patients were treated at the Unair Hospital, four patients were treated at Dr. Soewandhie Hospital, and one patient was treated at Mitra Keluarga Kenjeran Hospital. Also, three patients were treated at the Bulak Banteng Health Center, and one other patient was treated at the Sidotopo Wetan Health Center.
In the follow-up process of handling, the Tanah Kali Kewall Health Center conducted intensive monitoring of patients who were still being treated.
"The Land Health Center of Kali Kewall Surabaya has also sent food samples suspected of causing poisoning, for laboratory examination to be carried out in coordination with the Surabaya Health Office. There are four types of samples sent to the laboratory, namely satay, gule, crengsengan, and water," he said.
Furthermore, the Surabaya Health Office will continue to carry out intensive monitoring of the treatment of patients who are being treated at health centers, hospitals, and patients who are undergoing outpatients.
As well as coordinating the delivery of samples to the Surabaya Health Laboratory Center (BBLK) equipped with a chronology of food poisoning cases according to the results of field investigations on July 1, 2023 for further examination.
