Kevin Chooses Rahmat Hidayat As A New Tandem To Replace Marcus

JAKARTA Men's doubles special badminton player Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo officially chose Rahmat Hidayat as his new tandem to replace Marcus Fernaldi Gideon.

The men's doubles coach Herry Iman Pierngadi immediately moved quickly to find Kevin's partner after Marcus decided to take a break after undergoing surgery on his right leg.

"I've spoken with Kevin. I gave him a choice, it turns out that he chose Rahmat," Herry told reporters, Wednesday, June 28.

Rahmat's presence in the first team is a consideration for Kevin to choose him. In addition, the two are also quite close, often become sparring friends, and often eat together.

Herry said he was still calculating for the tournament Kevin/Rahma would be participating in later.

"For the tournament, I'm still counting points and sorting out which tournaments they can participate in first. We'll choose for the next six months more or less," said Herry.

Rahmat previously paired with Muhammad Rayhan Nur Fadillah.

In addition, he was also paired with Pramudya Kusumawardana in several tournaments last year following his injury to Yeremia Erich Yoche Yacob Rambitan.

At that time, Pramudya/Rahmat successfully won two titles at the Indonesia International Challenge 2022 and Indonesia Masters 2022 Super 100.
