The Lampung Prosecutor's Office Will Execute Fines For 4 Defendants In The Pringsewu Illegal Fertilizer Case Who Have Been Confined

A total of four defendants in the illegal fertilizer case of Pringsewu who are high-ranking officials of PT Gahendra Abadi Jaya have undergone a period of confinement after the decision of the Supreme Court (MA). However, the four of them have not fulfilled their obligations to pay the fine.

The defendants were Ketut Gatre, Subhan, Tri Setyo Dewantoro, and Hendri Adriansyah. Each was decided in the Supreme Court's cassation that the sentence was two months in prison and a fine of Rp. 10 million.

"We will carry out the execution immediately," said the Public Prosecutor (JPU) of the Lampung High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) Kandra Buana in Bandarlampung, Monday, June 26, confiscated by Antara.

"We have received the excerpt for the detention period which was decided by the Supreme Court to have passed their detention, but we are still executing the files. Followed by executing the fines of the four defendants," he continued.

Previously, the Supreme Court decided to refuse repairs to the appeal filed by the prosecutor in the Pringsewu illegal fertilizer case.

The case was tried by the Supreme Court in a file with Number 1361K/Pid.Sus/2023 which was entered on Wednesday, March 1, 2023.

The panel of judges led by Surya Jaya and two members of Prim Haryadi and Yohanes Priyana decided to reject the verdict of the case.

In the previous prosecutor's demands, the defendants were sentenced to 8 months in prison with a fine of Rp. 5 million each, subsidiary to 3 months in prison.

However, in the judge's decision at the Tanjungkarang District Court (PN) level which was read out on October 18, 2022, the four defendants received acquittal.

Where the four of them as high-ranking officials of PT Gahendra Abadi Jaya as producers of fertilizers were declared innocent and did not fulfill the elements of violating articles on sustainable agricultural cultivation systems and consumer protection, as in the prosecutor's indictment.

Based on the verdict free from the sentence, the prosecutor made further legal remedies by filing an appeal to the Supreme Court.
