Women's Therapists Arrested For Stealing 5 Motorcycles Customers MiChat, Claiming To Be Annoyed About 'Open BO'
PONOROGO - The Ponorogo Police Satreskrim Team, East Java arrested a female therapist who was reported to have committed fraud and embezzlement through the MiChat application, under the guise of serving massage and call services.
"We arrested this perpetrator after the last victim complained about this case to the Ponorogo Police. In total there were five vehicles (motorcycles) that he fell," said Head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Ponorogo Police AKP Nikolas Bagas Yudhi Kurnia as reported by ANTARA, Sunday, June 25.
The woman with the initials Wy (39) is now detained and has been named a suspect on charges of fraud and embezzlement. Wy is apparently a recidivist of a similar case and was sent to prison in 2019.
The results of the temporary investigation, the woman from Katoharjo District, Madiun City, always acts with the mode of providing therapist services through the MiChat application.
Social media-based applications better known as blind dating apps, are being misused a lot for paid dating transactions and plus massage services.
Niko explained that the suspect used the MiChat application to trick his victims.
"The suspect deliberately put up a profile as a massage therapist so that the victims are interested in using his services. It was deliberately using the application to catch victims," said Niko.

This case was handled by the police after one of the victims, who is a resident of Ponorogo, reported to the Ponorogo Police.
To the officers, Wy admitted to taking the action out of revenge. In addition, Wy is often accused of being "open BO", especially from men who speak and use his services through MiChat conversations.
"Yes, I have a grudge, I often think it is open BO and can serve open BOs. Because of the grudge I brought the vehicle," said Wahyuni.
To account for his actions, the suspect was charged with Article 378 of the Criminal Code or Article 372 of the Criminal Code with a maximum imprisonment of four years.
