The Directorate General Of Construction Of The Ministry Of PUPR Proposes Additional Budget To Be IDR 692 Billion In 2024
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) through the Directorate General of Construction proposed an additional budget of more than IDR 100 billion for 2024.
"That in 2024, we propose to add a budget ceiling of the Directorate General of Construction of Rp114 billion to Rp692 billion," said Director General of Construction at the Ministry of PUPR Rachman Arief Dienaputra in a Hearing Meeting (RDP) at the DPR RI Building, Jakarta, Tuesday, June 20.
Rachman said that the Directorate General of Construction originally received a budget ceiling of Rp578 billion and is now proposing an addition to Rp692 billion.
He said the proposed additional budget would be used to complete a number of plans by the Directorate General of Construction of the Ministry of PUPR.
"This addition will be used for the need to accelerate the printing of construction workers (TKK), accelerate certification by the Professional Certification Institute (LSP) and the Business Entity Certification Institute (LSBU), as well as digitize the procurement of goods and services according to the National Corruption Prevention Strategy of the KPK," he said.
Furthermore, Arief hopes that his party can get support from members of the Indonesian House of Representatives on this proposal.
"We need support from the ladies and gentlemen, chairmen, and members to be able to fulfill the proposed additional budget above for the implementation of higher quality infrastructure development," he added.
Previously, the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) revealed that the indicative ceiling for the 2024 Fiscal Year (TA) amounted to Rp128.15 trillion.
The amount of the budget is prioritized in national programs in accordance with the theme of the Government Work Plan (RKP) in 2024, which is 'Accelerated Inclusive and Sustainable Economic Transformation'.

PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said, in the implementation of the 2024 FY infrastructure spending program, the Ministry of PUPR focused on completing cross-year construction work (Multi Years Contract), as well as optimizing infrastructure that had been built through the Operational, Maintenance, Optimization and Rehabilitation (OPOR) approach, and Presidential Directive.
"According to the direction of the President, all construction work must be completed by the end of 2024, so that the community can immediately benefit the infrastructure," Minister Basuki said in a press release, Thursday, June 8.
