Innovation In Batteries Is The Key To Electric Motor Development
JAKARTA - Innovations carried out on batteries are key in the development of electric motorcycles so that they can travel a longer distance, said SALes Manager of PT Sentramitra Dayautama (SD)Ricky Aguinaldo.
"With the innovations made on batteries, motorcycles and other electric vehicles can travel even further than before," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, June 17.
With a longer distance in one charge, he continued, electric motorcycles can be used for daily vehicles. So far, some people are still reluctant to switch to electric vehicles because of the short distance for one charge.
The current average electric motorcycle has reached about 150 kilometers for one filling. However, with the innovations we present, the E-Max Long Range series can cover up to 280 kilometers," he explained.
Thanks to this innovation, he said, the vehicle managed to achieve the Indonesian World Record Museum (MURI) for the electric motorcycle category which traveled long distances with one charge. The vehicle uses a lithium type battery with a capacity of 60V 90Ah. However, those sold on the market are electric motorcycles using a 60V 70Ah battery with a distance of 230 kilometers.
He explained that electric vehicles are more friendly in bags when compared to using oil-fueled vehicles. The cost incurred for one charge is only Rp. 4,000. In addition, it also saves monthly maintenance costs.

The motorcyclist who tested the vehicle from Jakarta to Brebes, Theo Randaru, said that electric motorcycles can maneuver like motorbikes with fuel.
"Initially, I had expectations that it was not too high because it was still foreign to electric motorcycle products. But it turned out to be very good, there was no body fracture, like the sound of a krek, krek. The back and front suspension works well. It's also bright and the seat is soft," said Theo.
Senior Manager of the Indonesian World Record Museum (MURI) Triyono hopes that in the future there will be more innovations made by electric vehicle companies, so that they can break the current record.
