Evaluation Of Service For Prisoners With Disabilities, Ditjenpas Asks For Bukittinggi Prison In West Sumatra To Present A Seat Toilet

SUMBAR - Directorate General of Corrections (Ditjenpas) of the Ministry of Law and Human Rights evaluates the disability service of the Bukittinggi Penitentiary (Lapas), West Sumatra (West Sumatra).

The Ditjenpas Health Care and Rehabilitation Director Team, Zulfikri, said this activity coincided with the cleaning and sanitation monitoring of the prison. "We came for monitoring and evaluation activities related to the cleanliness of the kitchen and sanitation at the Bukittinggi Prison," he said, Friday, June 16, which was confiscated by Antara.

Zulfikri said the Ditjenpas carried out a check by directly summoning one of the inmates with disabilities.

Activities continue by monitoring the kitchen of the Bukittinggi Prison and ensuring that cooking utensils are clean and hygienic. "Overall facilities and infrastructure for disability services at the Bukittinggi Prison are adequate, health cadres have also been given training on service procedures for people with disabilities," said Zulfikri.

He emphasized that this directive was adjusted to the local Kalapas decision letter regarding the disability service unit which had also been formed in 2021. "We hope that it will be further improved with special rooms for disabilities for correctional inmates and additional supporting facilities such as toilets sitting in the inmates' rooms," he said.

The Head of Subsidy for Community Guidance and Nursing of the Bukittinggi Prison, Hasanuddin Harahap, emphasized his readiness to follow up on the monev. "Thank you for your visit to the Bukittinggi Prison, we will try to follow up on the directions and evaluations that have been given carefully so that the results are maximized," he said.
