Indonesian National Team Naturalization Player Leaks Argentina's Opposite Strategy On FIFA Matchday

JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team will face Argentina in the FIFA Matchday match, Monday, June 19, 2023. The naturalized player of the Indonesian national team, Rafael Struick, admitted that the match would be a tough test for the Garuda Squad.

Despite going to face the number one team in the world, Struick said the national team had prepared the best strategy ahead of Lionel Scaloni's troops.

"It will be a difficult match. They are the number one in the world, we will give our best, fight 100 percent, and we will see what we can get," said Rafael Struick after a training session at Senayan Field on Thursday, June 15.

Although he has just assumed the status of a naturalized player, Struick has won the trust of Shin Tae-yong to enter the first team. He appeared on the FIFA Matchday agenda for the Red and White Team against Palestine, Wednesday, June 14.

After contributing quite well to the 2-0 victory, Struick hopes to regain his trust in appearing to defend the national team in the match against Argentina.

Realizing that this match would not be easy, the ADO player of the Hague later said it was possible that the Garuda squad would play defensively and rely on a counter-attack scheme. This strategy was carried out considering that Argentina is one of the strongest teams in the world today.

"Hopefully, I can play, the coach in the side, I think we will survive the whole game, maybe with some counter-attacks," he said.

"I hope to show myself, the main focus is working hard, defending and 100 percent," explained Rafael Struick.

The national team versus Argentina match will take place at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK), Jakarta on Monday 19 June at 19.00 WIB. The match will be the first time the two teams have met at the senior level.
