Pamekasan BPBD Anticipates Rob Flood Potential On June 16-20
PAMEKASAN - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Pamekasan Regency, East Java, anticipates the possibility of tidal flooding from 16 to 20 June 2023.
Panekasan Regency BPBD Youth Expert Disaster Analyst Budi Cahyono quoted the BMKG as saying that during that period there might be a tidal wave due to the maximum sea water pairing.
"Based on the BMKG forecast as released by us, tidal flooding has the potential to occur on the Coast of Pamekasan Beach and Kaliangget Coast in Sumenep Regency," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, June 15.
BPBD conveyed an appeal to residents who live or are active in coastal areas to be aware of the impact of the tidal wave.
"On the Coast of Pamekasan Beach, as of today we have deployed a team to convey socialization directly to the local community," he said.
Parts of Madura Island such as Pamekasan and Sumenep during June 16 to 20, 2023, have the opportunity to experience a rob between 09.00 WIB and 12.00 WIB.
