Queens Of The Stone Age New Album Not Recommended For Weak People
JAKARTA - Queens of the Stone Age announced their long-awaited eighth studio album, In Times New Roman... which will be released on June 16 via Matador Records.
In his official statement, In Times New Roman... this is raw, sometimes brutal and not recommended for the weak. However, this may be the most beautiful and most valuable album in their epic discography.
The sharpest lyrics from the band founder Joshua Homme to date are supported by an instant-identifiable QOTSA sonic signature, expanded and decorated with new and unprecedented things in almost every song.
With In Times New Roman... we see that sometimes one needs to look down on scars and koreng to see beauty, and sometimes koreng and scars are its beauty.
Feeling a bit out of place, and having trouble finding the music that suits them, QOTSA members do what they usually do: In Times New Roman...is the sound of a band creating music that members want to hear themselves, while giving us all sonic forums to gather.
The world will end in a month or two, singing Homme, as well as asking the question: What do you want to do with the remaining time? Homme, Troy Van Leeuwen, Dean Fertita, Michael Shuman and Jon Theodore may not be able to save us, but they gave us a place to ride them.
The first offering from In Times New Roman... is the single Emotional Sickness, which wraps listeners in a warm blanket of a patented QOTSA crission alloy and irregular grooves interspersed with a mixture of psychological turbulence.
In recent years it has been very difficult for everyone, and it's no secret that QOTSA members have suffered heartbreak and loss. But which of us has never experienced any (or two) recent emotional illness?
A Liam Lynch made a lyric video for Emotional Sickness which has already aired on the QOTSA YouTube channel.
Meanwhile another single, Negative Space, was put on stage when QOTSA appeared on Bostol Calling on Sunday night. This is QOTSA's second show in three years after they made a comeback in Ohio last Friday, where they debuted Emotional Sickness.
VOIR éGALEMENT:
In Times New Roman itself was recorded and mixed on Homme's Pink Duck (RIP), with additional recordings on Shangri-La. The album was produced by QOTSA and mixed by Mark Rankin.
