Bareskrim Polri Unloads New Mode Of Afghanistan's Drug Network, Shabu Dissolved In Curtain Fabrics

JAKARTA - The Directorate of Narcotics Crime, Bareskrim Polri, has uncovered a new mode of smuggling methamphetamine by dissolving it to absorb it in a protective cloth. The mode is used by the Afghan network.

"The modus operandi of sending methamphetamine-type narcotics dissolved in windows, cloth, it turns out that there is a solution containing methamphetamine," said Deputy Director of Narcotics Crime, Bareskrim Polri Kombes Jayadi, to reporters, Monday, May 29.

In the disclosure, 5 people were named suspects. They have the initials W alias I, RWS alias C, AZ, MCF alias K, S bin NK.

The disclosure of the mode began with information on the delivery of methamphetamine. Coordination with the Directorate General of Customs and Excise was carried out.

After several deepening processes, three packages came from Afghanistan in the form of cloth. The package entered Indonesia through Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta.

Then, the suspected cloth was examined. In the end, it was discovered that the cloth contained dissolved methamphetamine.

"From the revealed suspects, get 12 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine," Jayadi said.

With the disclosure of this mode, the suspects arrested in different locations are suspected of Article 114, Article 111 and Article 112 of Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning Narcotics.
