Angkasa Pura I Ready To Welcome Airbus A380 Emirates At Ngurah Rai Airport
JAKARTA PT Angkasa Pura I revealed that Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Airport was ready to welcome the arrival of the Airbus type A380-800 aircraft operated by Emirates airline.
The world's largest commercial passenger aircraft is planned to serve Dubai-Denpasar-Dubai route flights on June 1, 2023.
President Director of PT Angkasa Pura I Faik Fahmi said the Airbus A380-800 landing operated by Emirates was the first to occur at Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Airport.
"We are very happy that Emirates chose to land the largest commercial aircraft in the world, Airbus A380-800, for the first time at Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport. This is a historic record for Angkasa Pura I and Indonesia," said Faik Fahmi in an official statement, Sunday, May 28.
To welcome the arrival of the Airbus A380-800, the Ministry of Transportation together with Anangkasa Pura I and the Emirates Team have carried out assessments of airside and lanside facilities at Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport. The airport has also met the specifications to serve Airbus A380-800 flights.
Make Special Preparations
Faik said that special preparations had been made to welcome the Airbus A380-800.
The movement of passengers from plane to airport terminal or vice versa has prepared a garbarata or aviobridge with two trunks to accommodate the Airbus A380-800 aircraft.
To handle the placement of the Airbus A380-800, around it will be arranged for aircraft parking.
Parking stands around him are only allocated for medium-body aircraft or narrow-body to accommodate the A380-800 dimensions which have a wingspan of 79.5 meters.

The Airbus A380-800 aircraft is the largest commercial passenger aircraft currently operating, both in terms of maximum passenger capacity and aircraft dimensions.
The plan is for Emirates to operate two types of A380 aircraft in Indonesia, namely the second class type (business and economy) and the third class type (first class, business, and economy).
"Once again we are ready to welcome the arrival of the Airbus A380-800 Emirates Airlines, and we hope that this moment that will become history can provide a positive multiplier effect on tourism and economic growth both in Bali and nationally," concluded Faik.
