The Directorate of Narcotics Crime, Bareskrim Polri, found indications of the use of funds from narcotics trafficking for contestation in the 2024 General Election. The allegation emerged based on the results of the disclosure of cases in several areas.

"It is suspected that there will be the use of funds from illicit narcotics trafficking for the 2024 electoral contestation," said Deputy Director of Narcotics Crime at Bareskrim Polri, Kombes Jayadi when confirmed, Wednesday, May 24.

The emergence of the allegation was based on the results of the arrest of legislative members who were involved in narcotics cases. However, it did not specify how many.

"From the results of the arrests made by the ranks of members of the legislature in several areas," he said.

Therefore, all levels of Bareskrim Polri have been asked to take preventive measures. The directive was given during a technical work meeting (rakernis) in Bali.
