Speed Of Crossing Cirebon Reaches 120 Km Per Hour, KAI Asks Residents To Be Alert At Train Crossings

PT Kereta Api Indonesia (KAI) asked the people of Cirebon to be careful when passing a level crossing because the speed of trains passing through Cirebon can reach 120 kilometers per hour.

"We will implement a Train Travel Graphic or Gapeka on June 1, 2023, where the highest train speed has reached 120 kilometers per hour," said Head of KAI Daop 3 Cirebon, Dicky Eka Priandana in Cirebon, West Java, Monday, May 22, confiscated by Antara.

Dicky said Gapeka 2023 replaces Gapeka 2021, where this time there was an increase in train speed that crossed several entrances in the Daop 3 Cirebon area.

Like the peak of the traffic speed between Cirebon and Songgom, Brebes from 105 kilometers per hour in Gapeka 2021 to 120 kilometers per hour, then the route between Cirebon to Brebes.

In addition to the route, continued Dicky, the speed also increased, namely the Cikampek to CileGH route from 105 to 115 kilometers per hour.

"So is the route between CileGH and Cirebon from the previous 100 kilometers per hour to 110 kilometers per hour," he said.

He added, with the addition of speed, KAI Daop 3 Cirebon appealed to people who pass at level crossings, especially without latches, to be more careful.

In addition, Dicky continued, the existence of Gapeka 2023 also had an impact on adjusting the departure schedule and train arrivals at the station, thus affecting the hours of the train passing, for that the public must also be more vigilant.

"We remind motorists who cross railroad crossings to be careful and orderly in traffic in connection with several changes in train schedules that pass in the Daop 3 Cirebon area," he said.

With the addition of speed, the journey is also getting faster, such as the Argo Cheribon train for the Cirebon - Gambir connection, which traveled 19 minutes shorter, from the previous 3 hours 14 minutes to 2 hours 55 minutes.
