Head Of Makassar Library Corruption Suspect Detained By Prosecutor

Makassar District Attorney has named the Head of Makassar City Library Service Tenri A Pallalo along with two other people as suspects. The suspect was immediately arrested in connection with the alleged corruption case of the library building construction project, Jalan Kerung-kerung, Makassar District.

"Today, the Makassar Kejari investigating team named three suspects on suspicion of corruption in the construction of the library building for the 2021 fiscal year," said Makassar Kejari Chief Andi Sundari as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, May 19.

Apart from the Head of the Library Office, two other suspects who carried out the tender believed that the Director of CV Era Mustika Graha Mustakim and Field Implementer CV Era Mustika Graha Wirdana.

"Tenri A Palallo is the Head of the Library Service and as the PPK in the construction work of the library building. Second, Mustakim Engineer as Director of CV Era Mustika Graha, the third is Wirdana as the executor of the activity," said Kajari.

The library building construction project with a budget value of around Rp. 7.9 billion in 2021. However, in the course of the project, it was declared that the contract was terminated so that the building construction process was less than 100 percent.

Andi Sundari emphasized that the determination of the suspect was after the investigating team of the Prosecutor's Office carried out a series of investigative actions based on a warrant from the Head of the Makassar District Attorney's Office on January 27, 2023.

"The investigative team has held exposures several times and found two valid pieces of evidence to determine the three as suspects," said Andi Sundari.

From the examination report by a team of construction experts from Hasanuddin University, it was found that there was a discrepancy in the specifications and volume of the building in the budget plan.

"From the report, there is a volume difference and the results of the analysis of material and building specifications amounting to Rp3 billion. The three suspects were detained at the Makassar Class I Detention Center for the next 20 days for investigation purposes," he said.

Suspect Andi Tenri Pallalo after being questioned for five hours from the examination of the three, when asked by reporters, only said that they should be prayed for in the face of the trials.
