Polisi Setapkan Pimpinan Ponpes Di Lombok Timur Tersangka Pencabulan Santriwati

East Lombok Resort Police Investigator, West Nusa Tenggara, has again named a leader of the Islamic boarding school (ponpes) as a suspect in the alleged abuse case against female students.

Head of the Public Relations Section of the East Lombok Police, Nicolas Oesman, said the suspect this time was the head of the boarding school in the Sikur area.

"The leader of the boarding school in Sikur who is a suspect has the initials HN, born in 1972," said Nicolas as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, May 17.

From this determination, investigators followed up by detaining the person concerned at the East Lombok Police Detention Center.

"So, last night after the examination, HN was immediately arrested," he said.

With this legal process, the Director of the Legal Consultation and Assistance Bureau (BKBH) of Mataram University, Joko Jumadi, gave his appreciation to investigators.

"We appreciate the performance of investigators who ultimately provide progress in handling the law. This is a good start," said Joko.

However, he reminded that in cases related to sexual harassment against children, the police must also think about the protection of witnesses and victims.

"Because from the information we got in the field, there were witnesses from this case who got intimidation from the perpetrators," he said.

With this information, Joko also assured himself and his team in Mataram City to move closer to East Lombok Regency.

"The goal is to see what kind of intimidation is," he said.

If this form of intimidation is classified as very disturbing to the safety of witnesses, Joko ensures that he will invite the witness and victim protection agency (LPSK) to help provide protection for witnesses.

"However, we must first make sure what kind of intimidation it is," said Joko.

In the alleged harassment case at the boarding school, BKBH Unram noted that there were dozens of female students who were victims of the suspect.

In fact, he showed evidence in the form of communication groups on WhatsApp social media, some of which were victims.

"In the WhatsApp group, about 30 members of which were also victims, but only one dared to speak and be a witness. Why is that, because this is a matter of security," he said.

Joko also assured that the victim in this case was not only one person. In fact, the time from the suspect's actions has been going on for quite a long time.

"Because some of the victims were alumni, some had become migrant workers, people's wives. So, that status made many victims not want to be witnesses," he said.

Nevertheless, Joko assured that his party would help the police to handle this case on target.

"Yes, in other words, we hope that tracking will also be carried out, both for victims and for other perpetrators, which may not have been revealed," he said.
