Langka, Chevrolet Corvette Jadul With Electricity Priced At IDR 1.4 Billion

JAKARTA - At this time, the automotive industry continues to strive to meet the sustainable mobility needs by producing and releasing electric vehicles. However, it turns out that similar efforts have been made since the 1980s. One example is the 1987 Chevrolet Corvette C4 which was equipped with an electric motor.

Quoted from carscoops, Sunday, May 14, this car was developed through the collaboration between Chevrolet and Motorola with the aim of creating emission-free vehicles that can meet the needs of public mobility.

However, this car did not reach the production stage, aka it was still in the prototype phase. The cause of the termination of development was because Motorola at that time thought that the development of electric vehicles took a long time or decades to mature.

When the car was found accidentally this year, the electric motor on the Corvette C4 was no longer working so the battery had to be replaced.

The manufacturer never talked about Corvette, including the power and distance of the battery, but it was stated that if the new battery of this car was replaced, it could have a strength of 400 dk.

The power has even exceeded the standard V8 engine at other Corvettes, which at that time only produced 250 dk.

Now the owner sells this prototype for 100,000 US dollars or around Rp. 1.4 billion with the condition of the car still as new, especially the interior but minus the battery.
