President Extends Position Of Acting Governor Of Banten Al Muktabar
Acting Governor of Banten Al Muktabar received a Decree (SK) of President Joko Widodo regarding the extension of his term of office until 2024 through the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri).
The extension decree was handed over directly by the Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian in his office at the Ministry of Home Affairs office, Jakarta, Friday, May 12.
The handover of the extension decree was carried out after the inauguration of Acting Governor of West Sulawesi Province Zudan Arif Fakrullah and Acting Governor of Gorontalo Province Ismail Pakaya. Apart from the Acting Governor of Banten Province Al Muktabar, the handover of the decree on the extension of the position was also given to Acting Governor of West Papua Province Paulus Waterpauw.
The extension of the term of office of the Acting Governor of Banten Province Al Muktabar is stated in Presidential Decree Number 39/P of 2023 dated May 11, 2023 concerning the Extension of the Term of Office, Dismissal and Appointment of Acting Governor.
After receiving the extension decree, Acting Governor of Banten Al Muktabar revealed that this position was a mandate that he had to live well. Therefore, Al Muktabar will carry it out as well as possible in accordance with the capabilities and limits of his authority.
"This position is a trust and trust that must be upheld. Of course, based on this mandate, we will carry out by doing our best in the limits of existing capabilities and authorities," said Al Muktabar as quoted by ANTARA.
Al Muktabar continued, there were several mandates given by the Minister of Home Affairs to him.
In addition, according to Al Muktabar, the Minister of Home Affairs also appreciates all the achievements that have been made so far, such as handling stunting which is quite good, controlling inflation which is still at the top five, the lowest nationally, unemployment which has decreased, poverty and several other things.

"With this extension of the position, of course this is a mandate for me and we ask for support and prayers to the entire Banten community, so that what has been achieved can be further improved, at least maintained. Then we must continue to implement the impact of bureaucratic cascaling so that the benefits of the state being present to provide services are increasingly felt in the community. And hopefully we can do it well," he explained.
In his mandate, Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian conveyed that the Acting Governors who were given the mandate could work well. For several extended Acting Governors, he continued, it was based on consideration and evaluation of many things.
"Of course everything is in accordance with statutory regulations," he said.
