5 Police In West Kutai Fired For Drug Cases And Mangir From Duties

KUTAI BARAT - Polda Kaltim melakukan pemberhentian tidak dengan rehormat (PTDH) terhadap lima personel Polres Kutai Barat berpangkat Brigadir Kepala (Bripka) yaitu DW, Brigadir Polisi (Brigpol) yaitu MH, Brigadir Polisi Satu yaitu EA dan OP, serta Brigadir Polisi Dua (Bripda) AMP.

According to the Head of the Human Resources Bureau (Karo SDM) of the East Kalimantan Police, Kombes Ari Wibowo, the five were fired because some were involved in drug abuse and left their duties for more than 30 consecutive days without information.

"So this act of dismissal had to be carried out in order to maintain the dignity of the National Police institution. There was no tolerance for Polri personnel involved in drugs. Moreover, those concerned have been reminded several times. Likewise, those who left their duties for more than thirty days in a row without any information," said Ari in Balikpapan as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday. May 9.

This dismissal is said to have gone through a long process and when it was proven to have violated the police professional code of ethics.

The five police officers were proven to have violated Article 12 Paragraph 1 Letter A and Article 1 of the Government Regulation of the Republic of Indonesia Number 1 of 2023 concerning the Dismissal of Police Members in conjunction with Article 11 Letter C of the Regulation of the Chief of the Indonesian National Police Number 14 Years concerning the Code of Ethics of the Police Professional.

Therefore, the Kapolda finally decided to issue a Decree of the East Kalimantan Police Chief on March 15, 2023 regarding PTDH for the five personnel on duty at the Kubar Police.

Ari also emphasized that no leader wants to lose its members, especially through the PTDH process. However, this must be done as a commitment from the leadership of the Police.

PTDH for members of the National Police is an alarming and unnecessary event because members of the National Police must be able to control themselves as Bhayangkara personnel, the main community servant as well as law enforcers who are role models for the unity, society, and their families.

"They have damaged the institutions and values contained in the tribrata and preset chess, hopefully this can provide a deterrent effect for others," said Ari.
