Circulating Drugs, Husband And Wife In Cianjur Threatened With 12 Years In Prison

The Cianjur Police, West Java detained two married couples from Cidaun District, Cianjur, West Java, suspected of being drug and drug dealers in the southern region of Cianjur, who face up to 12 years in prison.

Cianjur Police Chief, AKBP Aszhari in Cianjur Tuesday, said that during the past month his party had succeeded in uncovering 10 cases of drug trafficking in a number of areas in Cianjur, with 12 suspects.

"Of the dozens of suspects, two of them are husband and wife couples on behalf of Dika (43) and Santi (35) who distribute drugs and illegal drugs in the southern region of Cianjur. Officers secure thousands of pills of illegal drugs and tens of grams of crystal methamphetamine," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, May 9.

During their action, the husband and wife never met the buyer because of the mode used by the patch system at the point agreed with the prospective buyer, but in the end, they were trapped by officers who pretended to buy drugs.

From the suspect's hands, his party managed to secure evidence of marijuana-type drugs weighing 250 grams, methamphetamine weighing 139.95 grams and certain hard drugs (OKT) as many as 8,739 pills.

"The couple of husband and wife and other suspects will be charged with Article 114 paragraph 1 and paragraph 2 in conjunction with Article 112 Paragraph 1 and paragraph 2 of Law No. 35 of 2009 with a maximum penalty of 12 years in prison," said Aszhari.

His party asked residents to participate in fighting drug and drug trafficking in Cianjur, by reporting suspicious activities in the neighborhood where they live in order to narrow the space for dealers to move.

"Please report it to the police when you find suspicious movements or activities in the neighborhood where they live for immediate action," he said.
