PBNU Speaks Up About Handling Police Handling Homecomers And Backflow

JAKARTA Polri ranks together with the TNI and stakeholders related to getting extraordinary sympathy and appreciation from the community in securing homecoming and celebrating Eid al-Fitr 1444 H/2023 M. Not only from ordinary people, a number of figures also expressed their appreciation.

Secretary General of the Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board, Saifullah Yusuf (Gus Ipul), for example, appreciated the performance of the Police, who were considered to have worked hard to make Eid al-Fitr 1444 Hijriah a success.

According to Gus Ipul, the National Police has provided a sense of comfort during the Lebaran homecoming.

"The flow of going home this year is relatively smooth. We appreciate the hard work of the National Police Chief and his staff because they have anticipated and provided good guidance for travelers," said Gus Ipul in a written statement, Sunday, April 30.

Gus Ipul revealed a number of things that became the basis for the assessment of the success of the National Police in securing the 2023 Eid homecoming. For example, the National Police which has repeatedly appealed to travelers to avoid congestion. The information in question, one of them, is about the schedule of one way and contra flow on the Trans Java Toll Road.

"The police have provided well informed so they know when to go home, what time to go and so on," said Gus Ipul.

Meanwhile, the Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, said that the 2023 homecoming flow was relatively smooth. The implementation is managed properly, said Ganjar, so there are almost no complaints about congestion on both toll roads and arteries.

"Alhamdulillah, yes, the atmosphere of Eid is so felt, the homecoming is relatively smooth," said Governor Ganjar while reviewing the backflow at the Kalikangkung Toll Gate some time ago.

Not to forget, Governor Ganjar appreciated all ranks, especially to the Police, TNI, and related Forkopimda, namely the Transportation Service, who collaborated beautifully. Thus, the flow of homecoming becomes smooth and comfortable

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Central Java MUI, Prof. DR. Ahmad Darodji, who said that the homecoming experience in 2023 was quite extraordinary. He expressed his appreciation to the government and the National Police, especially the ranks of the Central Java Police.

"The implementation of this year's homecoming gathering is extraordinary. We heard that there were very few incidents (of traffic engineering carried out, contra flow and one way. Apparently this facilitates and makes it easier to stay in touch with family," said Prof. Ahmad Darodji in a video on the Instagram page.

"So what goals of the community do they hope these two years can be realized," he said

The efforts of the National Police together with the TNI which also reaped public appreciation are free homecoming programs.

In Central Java, the free homecoming program was initiated by the TNI-Polri which provides 540 buses for thousands of residents who will return to Jakarta. It is recorded that the TNI-Polri in 35 regencies/cities hold free homecoming, with varying departure times.

Central Java Police Chief Inspector General Ahmad Luthfi said this program was the first time in Central Java.

"With the homecoming and free return programs, the first thing can reduce the availability of spots when they go home, the second is that we facilitate them so they are safe, comfortable to reach their destinations", he said.

Ryan, a resident of Cilacap, is very grateful for this free homecoming program. He hopes that this program will continue next year.

"I'm very happy to be able to go back home for free. Thank you TNI-Polri and hopefully this trip will run smoothly," he said sumringah

A similar expression was also said by Retno, a resident who took part in the free homecoming through the Grobogan Police. He felt helped by this program
