Golkar Is Considered To Have To Move Quickly To Determine Positions And Vice Presidential Candidates
BENGKULU - A political observer from Bengkulu University Panji Suminar said Golkar must move quickly in determining their position on the presidential election map and determining the vice presidential candidate who is the representative of the political party bearing the banyan tree.
"PPP has stated that it carries Ganjar as a presidential candidate and it seems that they will present Sandiaga Uno as Ganjar's tandem. Likewise PAN, and they endorse Thohir, it seems that they will pair Ganjar-Erick," said Panji Suminar as reported by ANTARA, Friday, April 28.
Now, he said, Golkar is left behind if it does not move quickly because the vice president's position will certainly be contested by the two political parties and they already have a figure who will be promoted as Ganjar's companion.
"So where are you going Golkar? If he wants to get closer to Prabowo, of course he has to deal with Muhaimin Iskandar with his PKB. If they slow to get closer to PDIP and Ganjar, they will be preceded by PPP or PAN," added Panji.
Meanwhile, Golkar's position, according to him, is actually quite attractive compared to PPP and PAN, both from the mass base, parliamentary thresholds and potential cadres.
"As long as Golkar wants to lower its target from the presidential candidate seat to the vice presidential seat and not force Airlangga to be presented as a vice presidential candidate," he said.
Panji said Golkar has a potential cadre to become Ganjar Pranowo's partner, Ridwan Kamil. Meanwhile, Airlangga Hartarto is enough to make up just like what Megawati Soekarnoputri and Surya Paloh did.
"From the calculations, Ridwan Kamil has more potential and electability, as well as a figure who can be presented to millennials as the owner of the biggest vote. Under him is Sandiaga Uno and Erick Thohir," he said.
