Eid Return Flow, Pertamina Plaju Refinery Increases Fuel Production
JAKARTA - PT Kilang Pertamina Internasional (KPI) Refinery Unit III Plaju Palembang, South Sumatra increased production of fuel oil (BBM). This is to support the smooth return flow of Eid al-Fitr 1444 Hijriah/2023.
"Now there is a return flow of Eid, to ensure that the stock of fuel at Pertamina's partner gas stations is available in sufficient quantities or according to the needs of travelers, we are increasing the production capacity of the refinery," said Area Manager Communication, Relations & CSR Refinery Unit III Siti Rachmi Indahsari, as quoted by Antara.
Quoting the "2023 Memorable Safe Homecoming" guidebook of the Ministry of Communication and Information, the peak of return flow is expected to occur on Tuesday (25/4) or D+2 Eid.
Although the joint leave schedule ends on April 25, 2023, the movement of travelers is estimated to remain high until Wednesday (26/4) or D+3 Eid.
According to her, during Ramadan, as well as the flow of homecoming and return to Eid, her party is committed to ensuring the availability of LPG fuel and gas (LPG) in South Sumatra and several surrounding provinces such as Lampung, Jambi, and Bengkulu (Sumbagsel).
To maintain the resilience and security of fuel and LPG stocks or ensure the availability of fuel, Pertamina Plaju Refinery continues to operate 24 hours by increasing capacity.

Throughout April 2023, the processing at the Crude Distillate Unit (CDU) of the Pertamina Plaju Refinery experienced an increase in capacity to 91.3 thousand Miles Barrels per Calendar Day (MBCD) from previously in the range of 85 MBCD.
Operational units are also maintained and operated safely, and reliably and adhere to applicable environmental regulations.
"We are still on standby at the refinery to ensure that the availability of fuel and special fuel (BBK) stocks is safe, so that people can go through the return flow of Eid al-Fitr this year calmly," said Rachmi.
