Beat Leicester 3-1, Manchester City 3 Points From Arsenal

JAKARTA - Erling Haaland scored twice as Manchester City beat Leicester City 3-1 in the 30th matchday of the Premier League at the Etihad Stadium on Saturday 15 April evening WIB.

John Stones put City ahead quickly before Erling Haaland scored two goals in the 12th and 24th minutes. Leicester scored an entertainment goal in the second half through Kelechi Iheanacho's shot.

Based on Antara's report, this victory saw Manchester City cut the gap with leaders Arsenal to three points. Pep Guardiola's troops are still in second place with a score of 70 points.

Meanwhile Leicester are getting worse at the bottom of the second or 19 in the standings with 25 points, they are in danger of "going down caste" at the end of the season if they cannot get out of the relegation zone.

They are two points adrift of Everton, which occupies a safe zone in the English Premier League standings.

City had already taken the lead when the game had only been running for five minutes. John Stones kicked the ball from Rodri's header from outside the penalty box which Daniel Iversen couldn't stop. The score becomes 1-0.

The home team received a penalty after Jack Grealish's cross hit Wilfred Ndidi's hand trying to block the ball. The referee had time to check VAR before giving a penalty to City.

Erling Haaland stepped forward as the executor, his shot to the right of the net failed to be stopped by Iversen. City took a 2-0 lead in the 12th minute.

City increased their lead in the 24th minute. Haaland again listed his name on the scoreboard with his shot in the penalty box after getting a through ball from Kevin de Bruyne. Leicester trailed 0-3.

The Citizen almost scored their fourth goal in the 60th minute with Riyad Mahrez's curling shot from outside the penalty box, but Iversen made a heroic save to parry the ball.

Leicester finally scored an entertainment goal in the 74th minute. Starting from a corner, the ball was headed by Harry Souttar and pushed over by Ederson. The rebound ball leads to Iheanacho who just put the ball into an empty net. The score becomes 3-1.

There were no additional goals in the remaining time of the game. Manchester City won 3-1 over Leicester City.
