Accident Involving Kuningan Regent's Official Car Kills A Couple, 1 Other Seriously Injured
JAKARTA - An accident involving the official vehicle of Kuningan Regent Acep Purnama killed a husband and wife, and one other victim was seriously injured.
"The victims who died were two men and a woman, both husband and wife," said Head of the Kuningan Police Traffic Unit AKP Vino Lestari in Kuningan, West Java, Monday, April 3, as reported by Antara.
Vino said the traffic accident occurred on Monday 3 around 13.30 WIB on RE Martadinata Street, Sindangagung District, Kuningan Regency.
The accident started with a Toyota Hilux E-8888-Y with a red plate, which was an official vehicle owned by the Regent of Kuningan, traveling at moderate speed.
However, the driver fell asleep so he swerved and crashed into five motorbikes that were parked on the side of the road and were traveling from the opposite direction.
"The vehicles involved were five motorbikes, but the victim was a husband and wife couple who were riding in a pillion and were hit so they died on the spot," he said.

He added that the victims who died were Jamaludin and Ilah Kustilah, having addresses in Mekarmukti Village, Sindangagung District, Kuningan Regency.
Two people died and one was seriously injured on behalf of Endra Wijaya, said Vino, who had been taken to the 45 Regional General Hospital (RSUD) Kuningan Regency.
He ensured that Regent Acep Purnama was in good health and did not suffer any injuries, so he returned to his official residence.
"We have taken the victims to the hospital, both those who died and those who were seriously injured," he said.
