Jokowi Bans Officials From Making Iftar Events Together, This Is The Reason!
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo issued a directive so that all state officials do not hold iftar events together during the holy month of Ramadan 1444 Hijri.
The directive is contained in a letter with a letter letter from the Cabinet Secretary of the Republic of Indonesia Number R 38/Seskab/DKK/03/2023 dated March 21, 2023.
"It has been checked that the letter is correct," said Head of the Presidential Secretariat Heru Budi Hartono quoting Antara, March 23.
The letter was addressed to the ministers of the Advanced Indonesia Cabinet, the attorney general, the TNI commander, the police chief, and the head of the body/institution.
There are three directions in the directive, namely: 1. The current handling of COVID-19 is in the transition from pandemic to endemic, so caution is still needed. 2. In this regard, the implementation of breaking the fast together in the holy month of Ramadan 1444 H is to be eliminated. 3. Minister of Home Affairs to follow up on the directives mentioned above to governors, regents, and mayors.
"Thus it is conveyed so that you obey the direction of the President in question and forward it to all employees in their respective agencies," the letter reads.
The letter was signed by Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung and copied to the President of the Republic of Indonesia as a report and Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia.
The government, through the Ministry of Religion, set the beginning of fasting or 1 Ramadan 1444 Hijri/2023 AD on Thursday, March 23, 2023.
