Heavy Rain And Strong Winds, Roof Of SDN 53 Damar The Agam Cat Was Damaged By A Tree

SUMBAR - The roof of the State Elementary School (SDN) 53 Damar Sicat, Lubukbasung District, Agam Regency, West Sumatra, was damaged by a fallen tree, due to rainfall accompanied by strong winds hit the area. Head of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Agam Bambang Warsito in Lubukbasung, said tree material damaged the roof of SDN 53 Damar Si Catu, Jorong Siguhung, Nagari Lubukbasung, on Tuesday, March 21, at around 03.30 WIB. "There were no victims as a result of the incident and the tree only hit the roof of the school's room," he said. He said, BPBD Agam had deployed a task force (Satgas) to clean up tree material after receiving a report Tuesday, March 21, at around 20.30 WIB. Currently, the tree has finished cleaning using a wood cutting machine. "Pohon has finished cleaning the members and for losses is still under data collection," he said. He added that the high rainfall hit the area on Monday, March 21, also causing landslides as many as three points in Nagari Balingka, Ampekkoto District.

After that, the flood submerged three housing units in Nagari Balingka, Ampekto District. "The water recalled the residents' houses about 35 centimeters and shrank again for about a few hours," he said. With this incident, Bambang appealed to residents to cut trees around the house that could potentially fall on the house when the wind was strong. The community was also asked to clean the ditch and not throw garbage to minimize flooding.

"We must be aware before natural disasters hit," he said.
