Police Hold Nightclub Raids In North Kalimantan Ahead Of Ramadan

TANJUNG SELOR - A joint team from the Bulungan Police and the Bulungan Military Police (PM), North Kalimantan (Kaltara) conducted a joint raid at night entertainment venues (THM) in the city of Tanjung Selor and its surroundings.

The raid, which was led by the Head of the Bulungan Police, Kombes Agus Nugraha, was in order to create conditions ahead of the holy month of Ramadan 2023.

"This Conditions Copyright operation is a routine agenda every year ahead of the implementation of the holy Ramadan worship, so that during the fasting month, Muslims feel safe and comfortable during worship," said Agus, Monday, March 20.

But this raid did not produce results. It is suspected that the operation of the joint team has leaked.

"We are still carrying out this operation, what is clear is that the achievement of this activity is not to find a result first. Rather, it is how the process has been carried out and there is no need to be discouraged even if the results on the ground are not as expected. I ask that the raid be carried out according to SOP and avoid being arrogant," said the Chief of Police.

Meanwhile, Head of Ops Polresta Polresta Kompol Zein Errie Limantara explained, there were two teams carrying out raids targeting THM in the jurisdiction of Polresta Bulungan. The joint team checked the identities of the visitors including the THM business permit.

"The team also checked the business permits and sale of liquor (Miras). If there is no permit, the alcohol will be confiscated. Including, visitors who do not have an identity must be taken to the Bulungan Police Headquarters," he stressed.

The raids were carried out by joint personnel divided by the two teams. However, the raids targeting THM did not produce any results. This is because a number of THMs have pocketed business location permits, although some of them are still in the process of obtaining permits by showing evidence of obtaining the permits.
