Nyepi Day 2023, Prambanan Temple Closed 24 Hours From March 22
JAKARTA - Tourist visits to Prambanan Temple at Nyepi 2023 were temporarily suspended for 24 hours from Wednesday 22 March at 06.00 WIB.
"This is done as a form of respect for all Hindus, who celebrate Nyepi Day Saka Year 1945 in the Prambanan Temple area," said President Director of PT TWC Borobudur Prambanan and Ratu Boko, Febrina Intan in Sleman, Yogyakarta, Wednesday, March 15, quoted by Antara.
According to him, TWC is fully committed to managing quality and sustainable "heritage and culture" destinations.
There are four pillars of tourism destination management carried out by TWC, namely education, conservation, spirituality and tourism.
"Spritual is one of the pillars of the management of the Prambanan Temple Tourism Park destination," he said.
He said, bringing the essence of amerta, water of life, Hindus celebrate Nyepi Day by doing a brata, staying silent without doing any world activities.
Meanwhile, the series of activities celebrating Nyepi Day in Saka 1945 at Prambanan Temple began on March 21, 2023.
The activity began with the Kesanga Tawur Ceremony which was planned to be attended by thousands of Hindus from Central Java and Yogyakarta. In addition, at TWC Prambanan, an Ogoh-Ogoh and Pangrupukan Parade Carnival was also held which tourists could enjoy as a "tourism attraction".
"This also provides 'added value experience' for destination visitors, as well as adds attractions in the form of religious performing arts that can be enjoyed by visitors in general," he said.
