Real Madrid Just Aimed, Mikel Arteta Has Made Finger Bite

JAKARTA - Spanish giant club Real Madrid is reportedly targeting Mikel Arteta to replace Carlo Ancelotti as coach. This is related to Don Carlo's future at the unclear Santiago Bernabeu.

Ancelotti's contract with Los Blancos will actually just end in June 2024, but the coach's situation is currently on the brink. Reportedly there was a dispute between Ancelotti and Madrid's President, Florentino Perez.

The trigger was a series of bad results later experienced by the Spanish capital team, as quoted by TalkSport Thursday, March 9. The club is said to be looking for a new coach and Arteta is in the shot. His figure is considered appropriate to replace Ancelotti after his success in making Arsenal in power in the English Premier League this season.

The Gunners are still at the top of the standings by collecting 63 points from 26 matches. The Gunners have lost just three times and are five points ahead of Manchester City.

Arteta's ability to guard the Gunners became one of the competitors to win the Premier League, making him one of the best options for the Madrid coach. However, that opportunity will still move at the same time and Arsenal this season.

Arteta himself will still be under contract with Arsenal until 2025. So far, there has been no signal showing the man from Spain is considering leaving the London club.

"As a manager, I can't control what has been written about you. However, what I can tell you is that I focus on the work I do here and I am very proud and happy to do for this club, that's all," said Arteta.

The lure to move to Madrid is huge considering Los Blancos is one of the biggest clubs in the world. However, there are things that will be burdensome for Arteta's path to moving closer to the Santiago Bernabeu, namely his closeness to Barcelona, which is Madrid's strong rival.
