Hit By A Cement Truck, Tanah Abang Market Underpass Barrier Collapses
JAKARTA - The vehicle height barrier on Jalan KH Mas Mansyur, Tanah Abang District, Central Jakarta, was damaged by being hit by a cement truck on Thursday, March 9. The height barrier was hit by a vehicle three times beyond the high limit until it finally collapsed on Thursday morning.
Furthermore, on Thursday afternoon, the black yellow pole began to be repaired by an integrated team from the Bina Marga Office and the Central Jakarta Transportation Sub-dept.
"We are following up on the accident or the collapse of the height pole at the Tanah Abang underpass. We have now dismantled the pole," said Head of Central Jakarta Transportation Sub-dept. Wildan Anwar to reporters, Thursday, March 9, afternoon.
After being damaged, the pole had to be dismantled by officers for the sake of smooth traffic flow. The portal pole was demolished by the Bina Marga Office officers for the safety of passing vehicles.
"Rusak and collapsed as a result of being hit by a truck last night. The crasher noticed the height of the portal of 3.7 meters and there was a 3.5 meter sign limit," he said.
After it is dismantled, later the poles will be installed again so that vehicles that exceed the height limit cannot pass.
"In the next week, it has been dismantled and it is safer for traffic. Later the installation will be carried out by the Highways Office," he said.
