APJII: The Number Of Internet Penetrations In Indonesia This Year Reaches 78.19 Percent
JAKARTA - The survey results of the Indonesian Internet Network Operators Association (APJII) found that Indonesia's Internet penetration rate throughout 2022-2023 reached 78,19%, so that the total population of Indonesia connected to the Internet in that period was 215,626,156 people from the total population of 275,773,901 people.
So, based on the results of the survey, if we compare it with the APJII survey in the previous period, it can be seen that Indonesia's Internet penetration rate this year has increased by 1.17%.
From the existing data, APJII sees that the Internet is increasingly equitable and the main need of the Indonesian people. This survey is also expected to support the Indonesian government's digital transformation program in supporting the acceleration and equal distribution of the internet by presenting comprehensive regulations and programs in providing Internet access that can reach all regions of Indonesia," said Muhammad Arif, Chairman of APJII at the press conference for the launch of Indonesian Internet Penetration in 2023 on Wednesday, March 8 in Jakarta.
In collaboration with SRA Consulting, as an independent survey institute, uses the Random Sampling Multi-Stage Method with a margin of error of 1.14% and a 95% confidence level. This survey was conducted during the period January 10 - January 27, 2023, which was distributed in 38 provinces in Indonesia with a total of 8510 respondents.
The survey results also reveal that the internet penetration rate for men has increased this year, which is 79.32% of the total male population in Indonesia.
Meanwhile, the Internet penetration rate for women is 77.36% of the total female population in Indonesia. This shows that currently gender equality in using the Internet has been getting better and is the need for everyone, both men and women.
