Deputy Director of the Special Criminal Investigation Directorate of the South Sumatra Police AKBP Putu Yudha Prawira said the illegal smuggling of cigarettes was carried out by land.
"So it is true that all the cigarettes came from Madura in production there, then they were circulated in our area (Sumsel)," Putu told reporters in Palembang, South Sumatra, Wednesday, March 8, which was confiscated by Antara.
Putu explained that the thousands of seized cigarettes consisted of various trademarks, namely Mild RJ, Fighter Strom Bold, Rosso Classic, Million Mild, LM, Turbo Premium, Luxcio Premium, RC, and HUS.

Based on the confession from the owner of the cigarette shop, he bought it from an agent in Ogan Ilir Regency.
Then, according to him, cigarette agents employ freelance marketing officers who offer products to their stalls.
He said, although AM claimed to have traded cigarettes without excise for the past year the police had not detained AM.
