Vice President Welcomes Osaka Istiqlal Mosque In Japan As A Place For Sharia Economic Development
JAKARTA - Vice President (Vice President) Ma'ruf Amin invites Muslims in Japan to prosper the Istiqlal Osaka Mosque (MIO). The mosque was built by the Indonesian community in Osaka.
The vice president in his remarks at the inauguration ceremony of the Istiqlal Osaka Mosque said that he would prosper it by worshiping and carrying out religious activities there.
"The mosque must be demolished. That is a sign of the faith. Do not build a mosque but do not want its contents (filling) to prosper," said the Vice President in Osaka, Japan, Monday, March 6, confiscated by Antara.
He reminded people who built and prospered the mosque to be a group of believers and included in the faith in Allah SWT.
"Don't be like people are building a place of body, what is it called, a coffin. People want to build a coffin, but after it is built they don't want to enter," said the vice president.
In his remarks, the Vice President also conveyed the construction of MIO which was able to accommodate 1,500 worshipers, as a sign of the contribution of the Indonesian people to Islam and the Muslim community to Japan, especially the Osaka area.
The vice president hopes that MIO, apart from being used for prayers, dhikr and tikaf', will also be used for economic and social purposes for the people.
"The function of mosques is growing in this modern world. I hope that mosques will become places of economic development and Islamic finance, both in developing concepts and practices," he ordered.
Furthermore, the Vice President welcomed the plan of the MIO management to build madrasas and clinics, in addition to making MIO the center of da'wah in Japan.
So that later MIO will not only be physically magnificent, but will also become the center of progress for Islamic civilization.
"I also hope that MIO can become an actual storefront of the image and face of Islam, which is soothing, tolerant, advanced and peaceful," he hoped.
On that occasion, the Vice President who was present and Wury Ma'ruf Amin's wife also had time to pray in congregation at the mosque and review the halal mart on the 1st floor of the mosque.
