191 DPD Candidates In West Bangka Failed To Register, Mostly Double Data
MENTOK - The General Election Commission (KPU) of West Bangka Regency, Bangka Belitung Islands, found 191 samples of support for candidates participating in the 2024 RI Regional Representative Council (DPD) who did not meet the requirements.
"The factual verification of 1,713 samples of support for DPD RI candidates from the Babel Province Election Area has been completed on Sunday, February 26, and 191 supporting samples do not meet the requirements," said West Bangka Regency KPU member Harpandi as quoted by ANTARA, Monday 27 February.
Harpandi explained that the support did not meet these requirements due to several things, among others, the names written in the support data do not support candidates and electronic ID cards are not the same as data or duplicate data.
In factual verification of the support for prospective DPD members, his party formed four teams that immediately went to residents' homes in accordance with data from the Babel Province KPU to become supporting samples.
He said, today we will hold a plenary meeting related to this factual verification, then report it to the KPU of Babel Province.
In the nomination of participants for the DPD RI members from the Babel electoral district, he said, they had registered themselves and uploaded proof of support for the application provided by election organizers with a total support of at least 1,000 voters with the distribution of support for at least four districts and cities throughout Bali.
"Those who claim to meet the requirements or not of this candidate as a participant are the KPU of Babel Province. Those who will recalculate the amount of support in accordance with the requirements for the minimum amount of support. We are only limited to verifying the factual supporters who are in West Bangka Regency," he explained.
