Minister Of Energy And Mineral Resources Ensures That There Is No Plan To Revise The Price Of Pertalite
JAKARTA - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Arifin Tasrif said that in the near future his party has not planned to reduce the price of subsidized Pertalite fuel oil (BBM) even though world oil prices have fallen.
"The price (Perrtalite) is still being evaluated," said Arifin, quoted on Monday, February 27.
Arifin continued, the government will not lower the price of Pertalite because the economic price of this type of Special Assignment Fuel (JBKP) is still above the selling price of Pertalite, which is currently set at IDR 10,000 per liter.
"It's still above the economic value now. If it's not down, it means it's not economical," continued Arifin.
Meanwhile, regarding the revision of Presidential Decree number 191 of 2014 concerning restrictions on purchasing subsidized fuel, Arifin said the process was still ongoing.
Previously, the Director General of Oil and Gas (Migas) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Tutuka Ariadji revealed that his party proposed criteria for consuming subsidized fuel oil (BBM) such as diesel and Pertalite which were included in the Presidential Regulation.
"Later on, Pertalite will be given to 5 consumer categories including small industries, fisheries businesses, agricultural businesses, transportation, and public services," said Tutuka in a Hearing Meeting with Commission VII DPR RI, Tuesday, February 14.
Meanwhile, for kerosene or kerosene, entitled consumers, namely households, micro businesses, and fishery businesses, there is no change from what has been regulated in the Presidential Decree.
As for the type of subsidized JBT Solar, the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources proposes that subsidized fuel can later be used by small industrial sectors, fishery businesses, agricultural businesses, land transportation, sea transportation, rail transportation, and public services.
