CleanSpark Improves Computation Capacity With 20,000 New Bitmain Machines
JAKARTA - CleanSpark, a Bitcoin mining company, announced the purchase of 20,000 units of Antminer S19j Pro+ mining machines for 43.6 million US dollars (Rp661.2 billion). In the purchase, CleanSpark received a 25% discount, with a price per terahash of around 13.25 US dollars.
The machines are expected to increase the company's computing capacity by 37%, and will be supplied in several batches from March to May.
The Antminer S19j Pro+ mining machine was chosen by CleanSpark because it is considered to provide better investment returns than the same ASIC-generation machine model.
CleanSpark estimates these new machines will increase their computing capacity by 2.44 EH/s, and increase their total computing capacity to 9 EH/s.
CleanSpark also revealed that their new miners' machines are more energy efficient and productive than previous models, and will be supplied to their locations in Washington, Georgia.
In January, CleanSpark announced an expansion of US$16 million (Rp242.6 billion) at the site, which is expected to increase their hash rate to 2.2 exahashes per second (EH/s), bringing their total hash rate to 8.7 EH/s.
The purchase of this new mining machine was made by CleanSpark to increase their computing capacity amid the low price of Bitcoin miners' machines, while the price of Bitcoin itself is rebounding.
CleanSpark alone managed to increase their Bitcoin mining production by 50% in January, reaching a monthly record production of 697 BTC. The increase in production was supported by stable electricity prices and better weather conditions in the United States.
This news shows CleanSpark's efforts to increase their computing capacity by leveraging the falling price of Bitcoin miners' machines. With the addition of this 20,000 new mining engine, CleanSpark is expected to continue to increase their Bitcoin mining production and optimize energy use.
