Kemenkominfo Sets Refarming Results Radio Frequency 2.1 GHz For Indosat, Telkomsel And XL

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Information (Kemenkominfo) has officially determined the radio frequency band as a result of rearranging or refarming in the 2.1 GHz radio frequency band.

The refarming is for three cellular mobile network operators, namely PT Indosat Tbk, PT Telekomunikasi Selular, and PT XL Axiata Tbk.

The determination is contained in the Decree of the Minister of Communication and Information Technology Number 76 of 2023 concerning the Determination of Radio Frequency Bands Resulting from Restructuring of Radio Spectrum Use Permits in the 2.1 GHz Radio Frequency Band which was signed on February 15, 2023.

"With the stipulation of the Decree of the Minister of Communication and Information Technology Number 76 of 2023, the determination of the 2.1 GHz radio frequency band for three cellular mobile network organizers, namely PT Indosat Tbk, PT Telekomunikasi Selular, and PT XL Axiata Tbk, has been in a contiguous condition," said Director of Resources Administration of the Directorate General of Resources and Postal and Information Technology of the Ministry of Communications and Informatics quoting between.

Based on the Decree of the Minister of Communication and Information Number 76 of 2023, the radio frequency band in the 1920-1925 MHz range is paired with 2110-2115 MHz, the radio frequency band in the 1925-1930 Mhz range is paired with 2115-2120 MHz, the radio frequency band in the 1930-1935 MHz range is paired with 2120-2130 MHz, the radio frequency band in the 1935-1940 MHz range is paired with 2125-2130 MHz, and the radio frequency band in the 1940-1945 MHz range is paired with 2130-2135 MHz set for PT Indosat Tbk.

Then, the radio frequency band in the range of 1945-1950 MHz is paired with 2135-2140 MHz, the radio frequency band in the 1950-1955 range is paired with 2140-2145 MHz, and the radio frequency band in the 1955-1960 range is paired with 2145-2150 set for PT XL Axiata Tbk.

Then the radio frequency band in the 1960-1965 MHz range is paired with 2150-2155 MHz, the radio frequency band in the 1965-1970 MHz range is paired with 2155-2160 MHz, the radio frequency band in the range 1970-1975 MHz is paired with 2160-2165 MHz, and the radio frequency band in the 1975-1980 MHz range is paired with 2165-2170 MHz set for PT Telekomunikasi Selular.

Denny hopes that the determination of the coexisting radio frequency band is expected to increase the flexibility of cellular operators in implementing cellular technology, especially 4G and 5G on their networks.

"In the end, it can improve the quality of cellular services to the wider community, especially the faster internet," said Denny.
