Open The IIMS 2023 Exhibition, Jokowi: The Indonesian Automotive Industry With Bright Prospel
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) officially opened the 2023 Indonesian International Motor Show (IIMS) automotive exhibition which will be held from 16-26 February 2023 at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta.
"By saying bismillahirrahmanirrahim, I officially open IIMS 2023," said Jokowi in his opening remarks IIMS 2023 at JIExpo Kemayoran, Jakarta, Thursday, February 16.
President Jokowi said the Indonesian auto industry showed positive growth last year.
"Our automotive industry has bright prospects," he said.
Throughout 2022, car sales are known to reach 1,048,000 units or grow up to 18 percent compared to the previous year.
Meanwhile, motorcycle sales grew 3.3 percent or 5,221,000 units.
In the opening of IIMS, President Jokowi was accompanied by Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, Minister of Trade Zulkifli Hasan, to the Cambodian ambassador.
On the same occasion, Kompas Gramedia CEO Lilik Oetama said, by carrying out the tagline "Bringing Opportunity for Automotive Society Together", IIMS 2023 invites the entire automotive industry to participate in increasing the growth of the national automotive industry.
"IIMS 2023 presents more than 45 four-wheeled brands, two-wheeled vehicles and electric vehicles. We hope that the IIMS will be able to support the community and industry involved in it," he said.
For your information, IIMS 2023 was held by Dyandra Promosindo by presenting 45 automotive brands.
The four-wheeled brands that also attended were Astra Daihatsu, BMW, Chery, DFSK, Honda, Hyundai, Mitsubishi, MG, Subaru, Suzuki, Toyota and Wuling to Indomobil Group presenting five brands, namely Audi, Citroen, KIA, Nissan, and Volkswagen (VW).
Furthermore, the two-wheeled brands that attended were Astra Honda Motor, Benelli-Keeway, Energica, Husqvarna, Italjet, KTM, Niu, Royal Alloy, Royal Enfield and Yamaha. Meanwhile, the brand of two-wheeled electric vehicles was followed by Gelis, Ion Mobility, Rakata, Selis and Smartby.
