Elon Musk: Late 2023 Will Be The Right Time To Find A New CEO For Twitter
JAKARTA - On Wednesday, February 15, Twitter CEO Elon Musk said that the end of 2023 would be a "good time" to look for someone to replace him at the helm of Twitter, as he expects the social media platform to stabilize.
"Maybe I need to stabilize this organization and make sure the company's finances are healthy and the product roadmap is clear," Musk said, in a virtual interview session at the World Government Summit in Dubai. He revealed when asked if he had found a candidate for a new Twitter CEO and when the person would be recruited.
"I don't know, I think maybe towards the end of the year it will be a good time to find someone else to run the company because I think by then the company should be in a stable position," he said.
On December 21, Musk said on Twitter that he would be stepping down as CEO "as soon as I find someone stupid enough to take this job!".

He added that he would "just take care of the software team and servers". Musk also conducted a poll on the social media platform days earlier on whether he should step down as Twitter's CEO, in which a majority of respondents stated that he should step down.
Meanwhile, Twitter is expected to continue operating as usual if Elon Musk no longer leads the company. Although Musk is currently active at Twitter and holds the role of CEO, Twitter has a skilled management team and employees who can keep the company operating.
However, given the impact Musk has had on Twitter, his departure could impact the strategy and direction the company takes going forward.
