Following Microsoft and Google, Opera Will Create Its Own ChatGPT

JAKARTA - Not to be outdone by ChatGPT from OpenAI, Bing Microsoft, Bard Google, and Opera recently announced that they will integrate AI-generated content (AIGC) services into their PC and mobile browsers.

Interest in AI services is surging fast as ChatGPT users surpass 100 million users in a short period of time.

While it's not said when it will come, Opera's upcoming AI integration will follow Opera's previous track record, providing direct access to platforms such as TikTok, Telegram, and WhatsApp.

“In more than 25 years of our company history, we have always been at the forefront of browser innovation. Whether creating browser tabs or giving our users built-in access to generative AI tools, we are always pushing the boundaries of what is possible on the web", said Song Lin, Co-CEO of Opera.

The high interest of many people towards generative AI tools has recently become a conviction for Oprea to step up and become the gateway to the AI-powered web.

As shown in the demo included in its blog post, Opera shows how you can enable the feature by selecting the “shorten” button to the right of the address bar. From there, a sidebar with ChatGPT will appear from the left.

Opera says it believes that with the emergence of AI solutions for both text, image and audio creation and in countless other forms, we are on the verge of a new era of creativity on the web.

“That is why we are reshaping the browser to enable our users to take advantage of all these resources and reveal their full potential in the best possible way", said Krystian Kolondra, EVP of PC Browsers and Gaming at Opera.
