The Ministry Of PPPA Emphasizes The Importance Of Strengthening Human Resources To Handling Sexual Violence In The Country
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection (KemenPPPA) stated the importance of strengthening gender-spective human resources (HR) specifically for handling cases of sexual violence in the country.
"Strengthening the capacity of human resources is very important. Human resources have credible competencies, especially in the curative," said Deputy for the Protection of Women's Rights at the Ministry of PPPA Ratna Susianawati in a Media Talk program entitled "Commitment of the Government to Follow up Delegation Articles of the Deliberation of the TPKS Law" in Jakarta, Friday, February 10, was confiscated by Antara.
According to him, efforts to strengthen human resource capacity will become a separate Presidential Regulation (Perpres) contained in 7 Implementing Regulations of the Law on the Crime of Sexual Violence (TPKS Law).
"In the mechanism of education and human resource training for law enforcement officers, education will be prepared which is equipped with curriculum and modules," said Ratna.
He said gender-prespective human resources and sided with victims were expected to prevent the victim's revitalization.
"This is important so that later law enforcement officials will no longer make victims experience repeated violence and violence that has been a prolonged trauma for victims, in fact the victim will face or experience revitalization because they are repeatedly asked, repeatedly reminded of their incidents," said Ratna.
According to him, education and training will also be given to government service personnel and service personnel at community-based service providers.
The government has agreed to simplify or merge the Implementing Regulation of Law Number 12 of 2022 concerning the Crime of Sexual Violence (TPKS Law) into 3 Government Regulations (PP) and 4 Presidential Regulations (Perpres).
These seven Implementing Regulations are a merger of 5 Government Regulations (PP) and 5 Presidential Regulations based on the mandate of the TPKS Law.
