KNEKS: 35,953 Free Halal Certificates Sudah Diberikan Untuk Usaha Mikro Dan Kecil Pada 2022

JAKARTA - The National Committee for Sharia Economics and Finance (KNEKS) said as many as 35,953 halal certificates were issued for micro and small enterprises (UMK) in 2022 through the Free Halal Certification (Sehati) program of the Halal Product Guarantee Agency (BPJPH) of the Ministry of Religion.

"The government has prepared a halal UMK certification budget for around 350,000 quotas, and thank God it has been published currently of more than 35,000 halal certifications," said Acting (Plt) KNEKS Executive Director Taufik Hidayat at Sharia Economic and Financial Outlook (Shefo) 2023, quoted from Antara, Tuesday, February 7.

In addition, there are 156 complementary institutions for the halal product process (PPH) and also more than 20,160 PPH assistants for accelerating UMK halal certification in 2022.

Taufik reports on the development of the halal industry, currently, there are three halal industrial areas (KIH), namely Modern Halal Valley Cikande, Halal Industrial Park Sidoarjo, and Bintan Inti Halal Hub.

Then, there are four halal, safe and healthy culinary zones (KHAS) consisting of Rasuna Garden Food Street in South Jakarta, Valkenet Malabar in Bandung, Los Lambuang in Bukittinggi, West Sumatra, and Lego-lego in Makassar, South Sulawesi.

He also said that there was an increase in the export value of halal products for the country's Islamic Cooperation Organization (OIC) by 18.5 percent in the third quarter of 2022 compared to the same period in 2021.

In the Islamic finance sector, Islamic financial market share grew to 10.61 percent as of November 2022, one of the drivers was the conversion of Bank Riau Kepri to Bank Umum Syariah.

Until December 2022, the total Islamic financing for the cooperation program between the government and business entities (PPP) reached IDR 18.75 trillion, including the Semarang-Demak and Cisumdawu toll roads.

Meanwhile, in supporting micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), various Islamic financial institutions have channeled Islamic financing with a total of IDR 135.1 trillion.

Previously, BPJPH opened one million quotas for the Sehati program in 2023. Head of BPJPH M Aqil Irham said in Jakarta on Saturday (7/1) that business actors must take advantage of the 2023 Sehati program because the implementation of the obligation for halal certification phase I will end on October 17, 2024.

Three groups of products that must be certified halal on October 17, 2024 are food and beverage products; raw materials, food additives and auxiliary materials for food and beverage products; as well as products from the slaughter and slaughtering services.

If business actors who do not have a halal certificate for their products, they will be given sanctions, ranging from written warnings, administrative fines to withdrawals of goods from circulation.
