Arrested By The East Kalimantan Police, Monitor Of Heavy Equipment For IKN Development Was Sold For IDR 3-5 Million
SAMARINDA - Polda Kaltim arrested four criminals DS, SR, MM, and KW, who were suspected of being involved in the theft of heavy equipment monitors used in the construction project of the capital city of the archipelago (IKN)."Those suspected of stealing the heavy equipment monitor have been arrested in different places," said Head of the Sub-Directorate of Crime with Violence at the General Criminal Investigation Directorate of the East Kalimantan Police AKBP Suryadi in Samarinda, quoted from Antara, Sunday, February 5.The police arrested three of the four perpetrators in Bukit Raya, Terunen and Sepaku villages, which are the main areas of the IKN government, and others were arrested in Sebulu, Kutai Kartanegara or about 100 KM from the IKN location.According to Suryadi, the three perpetrators of DS, SR and MM were pickers or committed theft at the crime scene (TKP) in Bumi Harapan, while KW was the collector and seller of the stolen goods."They also have the status of recidivist cases of motor vehicle theft, and perpetrators of KW act as collectors," said Suryadi.Suryadi explained that these perpetrators carried out their actions during the change of night shifts at the location of PT Brantas Abipraya's activities. They took a monitor and cut the installed cables, so the company is estimated to have suffered a loss of around Rp160 million.Meanwhile, the Head of Public Relations of the East Kalimantan Police, Kombes Yusuf Sutejo, added that the monitoring equipment looted by the perpetrators of DS, SR, and MM was sold to the Constitutional Court as a collector.The stolen goods were marketed outside Samarinda, around Rp. 3 million to Rp. 5 million per unit.Yusuf said his party had confiscated evidence of five units of monitor and equipment used in the theft."There are monitors that have also been sent out of town, and we are still investigating where these items are circulating," he said.
