Floating The Long Boat From Yesterday Morning, 2 Residents Embedded In North Maluku Waters Successfully

NORTH MALUKU - Basarnas Ternate revealed that two passengers who went missing with long boats in the waters of Talibu Island Regency in North Maluku (Malut) on Thursday, February 2 were finally found.

"According to reports, two victims of the long boat sinking in the waters of Talibu Island have been found adrift, hit by sea waves, but personnel have not submitted documentation because they are still constrained by signals," said Public Relations of Ternate Iksan Basarnas, Friday, February 3, as reported by Antara.

Previously, long boat boats with five passengers departed from Dofa Village, West Mangoli District, Sula Islands Regency to Penu Village, East Taliabu District.

In the middle of the trip around 09.00 WIT, the long boat with a 40 PK engine was hit by high waves until it experienced engine failure and drowned.

As many as three passengers managed to survive after trying to swim to the coast in the area of Samuya Village. Those who survived Amirudin (35 years), Rini Kadir (44 years), and Imelda Asnar (25 years)

Meanwhile, two other people, namely Asni Abjan (45) and Deni Hamang (41) were found by residents around the waters of West Mangoli near Dofa Village on Friday, February 3 at 11.30 WIT.

According to him, when they were found in a floating position, they were adrift while holding tightly on to the long boat body, fortunately the boat did not sink to the seabed.

The victim was immediately evacuated by members of the Marine Water Police (Polair) of Sula Regency to the North Mangoli District Health Center for treatment.

As for the chronology of the sinking of a long boat, on Thursday at 08.45 WIT, motorist Amrin Amirudin and passengers from Dofa Village, West Mangoli, Sula Islands Regency used a long boat to go to Penu Taliubu Timur Village, Talibu Island Regency, containing basic necessities.

At around 9.00 WIT in the middle of the trip, precisely in the waters of Samuya Village, Taliabu Long boat Island, was hit by waves which caused the engine to turn off and not long after that the sea water entered and the long boat sank.

According to the victim's statement, Amrin Amirudin, three passengers swam to the coast of Samuya Village, while two other passengers had disappeared and were finally found on Friday, February 3 afternoon.
